Once upon a time, I was dealing with a "hoarding" consultant, for reasons which shall be left out.
One of the things they told me was - "You'll never succeed without help - in my experience, that never happened".
I can easily imagine that.
And yet - challenge accepted, in the words of Barney Stintson, of "How I Met Your Mother" fame.
Now, I'm quite sure that their definition of "success" and mine are quite different.
Theirs means a significant reduction in stuff, me stopping collection of unconventional materials, letting go of those I kept, ideally - the more, the better..
My definition - restoring access to facilities and contents, becoming fully functional in all activities that need to occur, avoidance of unnecessary friction on all fronts related to possessions. ( No mention of reducing anything )
We shall see - work in progress - but I already know my methods are successful, and it's only a matter of time.
Don't expect a flashy instant cleanup.
Expect something very different, something never seen before, perhaps something that never happened, at least in public view.
Expect the "experts" proven wrong - about the slippery slope, about stress, misery, hopelessness, confusion..
Stay tuned, find out.
