Humans naturally retain information, though gradually forgetting.
Some or all Keepers might have a preference for not forgetting.
Digital Hoarding, especially, is ludicrous as a concept - no physical / logistical problem, risk to health, safety.
Any distress attributed to this is really a sign of computer illiteracy.
There are only 2 possible angles - either you don't want to keep information, or you don't know how.
Because if you do wish to keep any amount of information, it's doable and easy.
I personally keep decades worth of information - as far back as I was able to save / realized that I wanted to.
I can access most of it in seconds / minutes, and it causes me zero distress - only satisfaction.
It's only problem for Compulsive Normalizers who treat every outlier as a mental illness, and project their own issues onto others.
And even Non-Digital Information - pretty much the same.
Filing folders are extremely easy to use and can hold a lot of information compactly.. assuming you want to and you know how - so exactly the same deal.
So, there is positively no case against Information Keeping, whether physical or digigtal or anything in between.
Keep any information for any period of time or forever, to your heart's content.. or don't, your pick.
p.s. I kinda do understand where some of this might be coming from - it's now 2026, and still the ability to find anything in one's own email account ( using either common cloud or computer-based software ) is usually extremely rudimentary and deficient, unless you know exactly what that something looks like. It's a known issue, this doesn't change anything - it's a technical problem, not psychological - and it's possible and in fact recommended to work around this, even without the more sophisticated solutions and technical savvy. Separate story.
