Introjection Attack: Voices In Your Yead ( No, Not The Crazy Kind ), And They Aren't Even Yours - Brainwashing Can't Be Good For You

Ever had this happen to you - you're working somewhere in blissful silence, with no one present - and suddenly you remember the voice of someone - spouse, family member - saying something like "this is all garbage", "it's not worth it", "I could clean out this space in a few hours", or any one of an assortment of "tidbits of wisdom" from popular culture or the narrative by any of the "experts", on "hoarding" or otherwise.. ?

This might be significantly at odds with your own perception.

This might cause significant negative reaction, too - a conflict out of nothing, with no one else present.

How dare they say those things ? Did they even ask why I'm keeping this or that ? Do they even care ? I didn't invite this "help"..

This, like any conflict, is extremely costly in terms of attention, memory, productivity, energy - it burns through those like they are going out of style.

And the thing is, you are entirely right - they shouldn't dare to say such things - most such expressions are deliberately using a very mocking, belittling, manipulative language with zero consideration for your feelings or your intentions.

This hijacks your attention, interrupts whatever you were doing.

This amounts to cult-like brainwashing, an indoctrination by sheer repetition.

And it's probably doing nothing to convince you to comply, if you have any free will left, but it does create this internal conflict.

As I realized all this, I deliberately rejected all such inputs, and I have been "detoxing" my mind of all that.

It's not enough to merely stop receiving these communications, or at the very least, realize that they are invalid - it's also very important to "expel" or "vent" them out of your head - this takes time.

Only then can you truly think for yourself and to concentrate on your own intentions without all this intereference.

That's what I've been doing.

It's been working great for me.
