In the book Stuff, Frost evokes the concept of "tree with too many branches", as a metaphor for excessive cognition, along with others, like "minds like snapping turtles".
I mock his mocking, simply put.
I say, this is simply a case of cognition / creativity, mismanaged - lacking a favorable environment, suitable tools, processes, systems.
A person likely needs a whiteboard and an information system - not a psychiatrist.
Even in mental health wards, they have plenty of whiteboards, and encourage patients to use them.
I would even suggest that the creativity displayed even in mental wards is not substantially different from the most admired innovators, it's the person's life's other aspects, ideation and the execution of those intents that are mismanaged.
All the more so here, as far as keeping is concerned.
This here doctrine and criticism are an output of just such "Tree Of Overcreativity With Too Many Branches".
But it's a living, moving, lovecraftian tree, and it got Frost's simplistic framework of "hoarding" firmly grasped with a vine, and there is no escape from the impending deconstruction.
I take his metaphors, and appropriate them, and they.. look.. good.
I am the tree with too many branches, way too many branches.
I am the snapping turtles.
I am Overcreativity personnified.
I keep many of the same things mentioned in the book, in fact some that are much, much worse ( no, not in any unhealthy way ).
I find many of the same reasons for keeping resonate with me.
And yet, I am not "confused", I do not have "difficulty making decisions", I do not lack in execution, and all that other jazz.
And I am not fooled by all the Magician Tricks, I see everythng for what it is in those books.
